Formula Lights
The American Power Boat Association (APBA) is a membership owned organization and one of the primary sanctioning bodies for competitive powerboat racing in the United States. APBA serves as the United States sanctioning authority for the Union Internationale Motonautique (UIM), the internationally recognized governing body for powerboat racing. APBA oversees multiple forms of powerboat competition and provides established racing rules, safety standards, technical regulations, event sanctioning, records, and championship programs for racers throughout the United States.
APBA and Formula Light / SST-45 Racing
Formula Light / SST45 races are part of Outboard Performance Craft (OPC) category. OPC covers outboard powerboat racing and includes the SST-45 class, where lightweight tunnel boats compete using tightly controlled engine and boat specifications designed to promote close, competitive racing.
